So I guess, first things first. I've started listening to a lot of podcasts during my day. Don't get me wrong - Halsey's 'Control' and 'Colors' are still dominating my musical playlists BUT on my commute into the city I've been pressing play on four different podcasts, depending on my mood,
It all stemmed from being sad about not being able to read as many books as I used to.
So here I went - starting about three months ago with Welcome to Nightvale after a recommendation from a film-writer friend of mine. It didn't take me long to get hooked - it had everything I loved - an interesting world-building format, a great reader with a molasses deep voice, creepy weird things happening (including a Glow Cloud that ended up on the School PAC and a Dog Park no one is allowed in) and a TON of episodes to catch up on. And it was all wrapped up in a community radio broadcast format.
I DEVOURED the content in those three months and went searching for more - now being throughly addicted to podcasts.
Thankfully the same people that made Welcome to Nightvale started Welcome to Nightvale presents: Alice Isn't Dead - a new podcast story produced by the same man Joseph Fink (and part of the team) who created WtN. It features a woman who is traveling the country in a semi-truck delivering various odd items while searching for her missing wife and encountering similarly odd and occasionally scary Lovecraftian style scariness. I found it far more dramatic than Welcome to Nightvale and I'm super excited to hear more. As of now it's on episode 4.
So if you love weird creepy (not gorey) stories I think you'll like these. At least Alice Isn't Dead - it's less serial and more story and I'm actually constantly checking my itunes Podcast feed for the new episodes - even though I know they only happen every second Tuesday.

In musical GUP news - I built this website and have been working on a new music video with Jesse for a funky back and forth style duet called 'Drowned'. I can't wait to have more to share! For now all I can say is that we're almost done filming!
