It's not for lack of WANTING but more lack of having - since the death of most CD-centric stores in Vancouver, I am limited to a once monthly trip to the tiny little HMV's surviving off of pulp culture decor. But now, sadly, even that is only a week or two from a very permanent death.
Now I know what you are saying - BUT MEL APPLE MUSIC/ SPOTIFY / SOUNDCLOUD... And yes I have some form of all of those BUT I still love the idea of a CD (and the sound of a .WAV file). So much love goes into that creation; from the art, to the packaging to the music itself, it all tells a story. I feel as though most artists put days of thought into the cohesion of album songs and how they transition and work with one another and I want to take the time to hear it as it was intended.
So here I am, annoying friends with hearing the same album repeat over a month each time they accompany me on some sort of car journey. Oh well, I'm driving them ;D
These are my top 5 car albums from my last year traveling around in my little Kia Soul. They're in no particular order but I quite enjoy the overarcing story and use of same-words throughout the songs and similar themes. .
1. Halsey - Badlands
2. Issues - (self-titled) Issues
3. Shinedown - Threat to Survival
4. Set It Off -Cinematics
